Most things in the body work based on a equilibrium. Temperature, inflammation reaction, movement, they all have a balance between pro and con. They also have a certain ideal setpoint. In the process of fever, the setpoint is changed in order to heat up the body. Earlier research shows a strong correlation between migraine, irritable bowel syndrome and fibromyalgia. Might it be possible that in diseases like migraine, irritable bowel syndrome and fibromyalgia the setpoint is changed aswel? In such way that due to the altered setpoint a ‘normal’ stimulus of neurons creates a painful reaction.
